The traditional 60th Jubilee Cherry Festival took place in Goriška Brda on June 6 and 7, 2026. The main event was at Dobrovo Castle, which hosted a rich accompanying program: musical and cultural performances, numerous stalls with homemade delicacies and artisanal crafts, traditional cycling marathon… The absolute highlight of the event was undoubtedly the 60 meter long cherry strudel, lovingly prepared by local women, which delighted everyone present.
The evening before, on Friday June 5 a solemn session of the Municipality of Brda was held in Vila Vipolže. The event was attended by numorous high ranking guests, including representatives of the Alps-Adriatic Centre (AACC) – president of the AACC, Martin Pečar, as well as the former long-standing president of the center, Bernard Sadovnik, who also serves as the mayor of the Municipality of Globasnitz/Globasnica (A).
