Eurobarometer survey about EU

 

The results of an Eurobarometer Survey from the beginning of this year show that the majority of EU citizens is satisfied with the EU. In spite of regional differences there is an optimism regarding the quality of live and the future outlooks, what clarified the analysis of the survey‘s results.
The diversity within the European Union is evident in different perspectives, challenges and priorities of the 27 member states. This diversity reflects in turn of opinions and attitudes of the citizens, who live in 194 different regions of the EU.
The quality of life in the regions was evaluated as good from 82% of the respondents, while 65% of Europeans rate the actual economic situation in their region as good.
The actual costs of living are for 31% of subjects treated as the most important issue with which their region is confronted. Afterwards follow the issues health, economic situation and unemployment with 26% each. The issues housing, environment and climate changes as well as education system are here also viewed as important for the citizens.
The trust in regional and local authorities can be described as expandable. Only 58% of repliers tend to trust, while 38% of them tend not to trust the authorities.
Nonetheless 66% of respondents have an optimistic attitude about the future of their region.
In total 2.735 Austrians were interviewed in the frame of the Eurobarometer Survey in Austria in the period from 11th January to 15th Fenbruary. From Carinthia‘s population 36% expressed their opinion that the economic situation is bad. However 97% of the respondents think that the quality of live in the State of Carinthis is very good or at least good.
The migration of people and companies is for 20% of Carinthians one of the biggest challenges of the EU regions. This is the highest value out of all Federal states of Austria.
Regarding the costs of living 37% of the interviewed Carinthians consider them as a growing problem.
