Slovenia and Austria stay in B division of UEFA Nations League

 

 

Last weekend was also active for the European football. Namely national teams played a serious of games, which formed the divisions of the Uefa Nations League for the following competition period and also finalized the scheme of 12 qualification groups for the 2016 FIFA World Cup.

Slovenia managed to stay in B division of UEFA Nations League after two games with Slovakia, ending 0:0 in Bratislava and with victory of Slovenia 1:0 in Ljubljana. Austria however was not successful with Serbia (1:1 in Vienna and 0:2 in Belgrade) and so remains in division B, too. Slovenia is competing for FIFA World Cup in qualification group B together with Switzerland, Sweden and Kosovo. Matches will start in September.

Austria is in the group H with five teams, there are also Romania, Bosna and Herzegovina, Cyprus and San Marino. Matches will start already in June. The winners of the 12 groups will be directly placed to the World Cup, 12 runners-up will decide about additional participants in play-off system.
