Eurobarometer survey

Eurobarometer survey about short term rentals in the EU: Improvement of tourist services, however with negative impact on communities

Eurobarometer survey, which was published on Wednesday, 22nd October 2021, analysing the short term rentals of properties, shows that such rentals improve the tourist offer in the EU, however that they also have  negative impacts on local communities.

The majority of surveyed Europeans (89 percent  ) consider short term rentals as a positive experience, which result in diversified offer of properties with more convenient prices ( 63 percent ), better equipment and facilities  and also at more attractive locations ( 43 percent ).

As Eurobarometer research maintains, short term rentals lead to a higher burden of local communities because of tourists, what results in more noise, congestions, waste and also in higher prices and availability of housing.
