Villach bietet Sportbegeisterten eine Vielzahl an Möglichkeiten, um ihrer Leidenschaft nachzugehen. Begünstigt durch die hervorragende Lage inmitten von Gebirgen, Flüssen und Seen ist es besonders im Sommer ein Vergnügen, zum Beispiel entlang des Drauradweges entlangzufahren oder in einem der Seen zu schwimmen.
Die Stadt bietet zudem eine Vielzahl an Sportstätten an, die rege genutzt werden und selbstverständlich ständig auf dem neuesten Stand gehalten werden. Die Stadthalle Villach ist einerseits die Spielstätte des Eishockeyvereines EC Panaceo VSV, der bereits zahlreiche Meistertitel in der höchsten Eishockeyliga des Landes erringen konnte und zudem für seine exzellente Jugendarbeit bekannt ist. Andererseits ist die Stadthalle auch professionelles Veranstaltungszentrum und wird das ganze Jahr über von verschiedensten Vereinen und Organisationen genutzt. Im Winter locken Pulikumslauf, Eistermine für Hobbymannschaften sowie unterschiedlichste Eisdisko-Veranstaltungen ebenfalls in die Stadthalle.
Das Sportzentrum Landskron bietet als einer der wenigen Fußballplätze in Kärnten auch Kunstrasen mit Flutlicht, außerdem ist hier das Tennisspielen möglich.
Die Villacher Alpen Arena ist eine der beliebten Sportstätten der Stadt und bietet die perfekte Infrastruktur für insgesamt 14 Sportarten, darunter Skispringen (auch für Kinder), Skiroller oder Langlauf. Kürzlich wurde das Angebot um einen gratis nutzbaren Rodelhügel erweitert. Auch die in der Alpenarena trainierenden Vereine sind für ihre außerordentliche Jugendarbeit bekannt, Karrieren wie die von Skisprung-Ass Thomas Morgenstern oder Martin Koch nahmen hier ihren Anfang.
Eine Leichtathletikanlage findet sich im Sportstadion Lind, wo ebenso Fußball gespielt wird.
Überaus großer Beliebtheit erfreut sich die Kletterhalle Villach mit Höhen von 4 bis 16 Meter, in der Seilkletterer und Bouldersportler gleichermaßen ganzjährig ihren Sport ausüben können. Die über 240 Kletterrouten werden übrigens regelmäßig neu gesetzt.
Das Sportangebot in Villach runden ab: Zahlreihe Tennisplätze, Fußball- und Sportplätze, Ballspielhallen, Trendsportanlagen, Radwege, Reitsportanlagen, Schießstätten, eine Bogenschießanlage und vieles mehr.

Beljak ponuja športnim navdušencem številne možnosti, da se lahko ukvarjajo s svojimi aktivnostmi. Glede na izjemno lego Beljaka med gorami, rekami in jezeri je še posebej poleti veliko zadovoljstvo, da lahko kolesarimo po Dravski kolesarski poti ali pa plavamo v enem od številnih jezer.
Dodatno ima mesto na razpolago številne športne objekte, ki so precej obiskani in so razumljivo nenehno na najvišjem nivoju. Mestna hala v Beljaku je po eni strani prizorišče tekem hokejskega kluba EC Panaceo VSV, ki je že osvojil številne naslove prvakov v najvišji hokejski ligi v deželi, poznan pa je tudi po svojem odličnem delu z mladino. Poleg tega je mestna dvorana tudi profesionalni prireditveni center, v katerem se preko celega leta vrstijo številni dogodki različnih društev in organizacij. V zimskem času v dvorano privabljajo dogodki kot so tek za javnost, termini na ledu za amaterska moštva in najrazličnejše diskotečne prireditve na ledu.
V športnem centru Landskron je eno izmed redkih nogometnih igrišč na Koroškem, ki ima umetne steze z reflektorji, poleg tega pa je v centru mogoče igrati tenis.
Beljaška Alpen Arena je ena izmed najbolj priljubljenih športnih točk v mestu in ponuja odlično infrastrukturo za skupno 14 športov, med drugim za smučarske skoke (tudi za otroke), rolkanje na snegu ali za tek na smučeh. Pred kratkim so ponudbo dopolnili s sankališčem, katerega uporaba je brezplačna. Tudi športna društva, ki vadijo v Areni, so znana po svojem izjemnem delu z mladino, vrhunski športniki kot npr. smučarska skakalca Thomas Morgenstern in Martin Koch sta prav tu začela svoji športni poti.
Stadion za lahko atletiko je v Lipi, kjer se prav tako lahko igra nogomet.
Nadvse veliko pozornost uživa plezalna hala Beljak z višinami od 4 do 16 metrov, v kateri imajo plezalci na žici in plezalci prostega sloga celo leto možnost, da se ukvarjajo z izbranim športom. Pred kratkim je bilo na novo nameščenih več kot 240 plezalnih tras.

Villach offers sport fans a variety of possibilities to enjoy their favourite activities. Considering its extremely suitable location among mountains, rivers and lakes it is especially in the summer time a great pleasure to bicycle along the Drau bicycle path or to swim in one of the many lakes.
Additionally the town disposes of numerous sports facilities, which are quite frequented and are always on the top level. The Town hall in Villach is one side the arena of the ice hockey games of the club EC Panaceo VSV, which won quite some championship awards in the Austria’s premier league, and is renown for its excellent work with the youth. The Town hall is also a center for professional events, where all over the year various festivities of different societies and organizations take place . In winter the attractions for the public are the events such as the run for the publics, hours on ice for amateur teams and several discotheque dance parties on the ice.
Sports center Landskron is one of the few football places in Carinthia, which has artificial runs with reflectors, however it is also possible to play tennis in this center.
