The ninth European Summit of Regions and Cities took place in French Marseille on 3rd and 4th of March, 2022. The highlights of this very well visited meeting of political representatives of the European regions were besides the declaration on solidarity with Ukraine the future of the European democracy and the integration of European youth.
The governor Dr. Peter Kaiser participated at this event in Marseille in his role of the member from the state of Carinthia.
The agenda was finalised only some days before the summit. At a specially called meeting the declaration, which very severely condemns the Russian agression on Ukraine, was accepted.
On the agenda of the summit were working and plenar meetings between others about the formation of the European democracy, which was judged from several various angles of our society. The next emphasis was- totally in the sense of the European year 2022 of the youth, which was announced by the European Commission- on the engagement of the youth and the share of young people on the political scene.
