The AACC as a cross-border organisation is starting a new project with the thema about the effective usage of resources. Actually the project is about the concept of the cross-border regional public transport connections in Southern Carinthia/Northern Slovenia region.
Our demands and wishes for individual mobility are numerous . They derive from working relations, sport, culture, education , visit of friends or relatives. Basically for these motives individual and public transport means are on disposal. In cross-border regions public transport exists mainly on long distances and for tourist reasons.
What offer can we present to our population in the region to establish regional cross-border public transport which can generate additional value for all of us ? We want to unite different interest groups (culture, sport, education, tourism, economy, politics) at one table and form definite implementational plans. The basis for these concepts are data about the existing traffic movements and developing scenarios of the socioeconomic environment. How should we furnish our mobile future and what specific can we add in the cross-border area, is therefore the main question of our new project. We are anxiously awaiting the results!
