Carinthia and Slovenia are deepening their cooperation

Under the mutual leadership of the Governor of Carinthia Peter Kaiser and the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Tanja Fajon the Slovenian- Carinthian Joint Committee held a session in the premises of the Carinthian State Government. The cooperation forum strengthened the close partnership between Carinthia and Slovenia and also set significant goals for future years. In the emphasis of discussions were the topics environmental and climate protection, transport, energy, education and health, economy, research, culture, agriculture and tourism.

The meaning and the support of the Slovenian national minority for diversified and for both sides fruitful cooperation was explicitely mentioned. Discussion was also about the recent police intervention at the Peršman’s homestead. Both Kaiser and Fajon agreed that a rapid and precise investigation, demanding very clear results, is necessary. „ This would meet the expectations of the Slovenian minority as well as the public in both countries“, confirmed the two above mentioned.
