The Carinthian railway track is an important transport connection between the Carinthia Statistical Region and the Drava Statistical Region as well as between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Austria.
On Wednesday, 19th April, 2023 The Regional Development Agencies for Koroška and Podravje organised a development conference about this track in the premises of the Ironmaking Museum in Ravne na Koroškem. Among other issues the plans of Slovenia at the improvement of the infrastructure and services on this track were discussed, the figures about the development of the passanger railway traffic were shown , also the connection of the tourist biking and the public transport was explained. The employee of the company Innoduler, industrial machinery producer, stressed the meaning of the railway link for the growth of his company.
After the conference the participants drove by a special train to Vuzenica, where they were welcomed in the new municipality building from the side of the municipality representatives led by the Mayor Franjo Golob. The Mayor presented some basic data about his municipality, the employee of the Tourist Info Center described the most important tourist sights nearby, afewards the social event followed.
Our member Lapanje Peter also took part at the conference, namely as a collaborator in the project »Cross- border regional public transport connections », which is acually going on in the frame of the Alps-Adriatic Center.
