The Alps-Adriatic Centre – AACC – established the contact for the Market Municipality Velden with the important Municipality Bled in Slovenia more than 20 years ago. Since then, both communities have been enjoying a particularly warm relationship.
On October 5th, 2024 we celebrated together the 20th anniversary of the partnership in the event hall of the Municipality Velden. In reference to the actual geopolitical situation both Mayors Vouk and Mežan stresssed the importance of their cross border cooperation for a peaceful co-living in the Alps Adriatic Region in the heart of Europe.
At the celebration the former Mayor of Bled Janez Fajfar, the actual Mayor Anton Mežan, Mayor of Velden Ferdinand Vouk, the Municipal Executive of Velden Margit Heisenberger and the Financial Advisor of the AACC Stefan Lesjak discussed new potential mutual activities.
