EU General Court imposes penalty payments for Google in the amount of 2,42 billion Euros

On Wednesday, 10th November 2021, the European General Court (EGC ) imposed penalties  in the height of 2,42 billion Euros  on Google of unfair usement of its market influence. The verdict is however not in power yet. Google has announced  action against this verdict.

In the year 2017 the Competition regulators of the EU  reached the conclusion, that Google has abused its market position with the limitation of shopping results and its own search machine. The practices of the American company have a negative influence on other price comparision services, was then the critics of the market regulators. More than four years later was Google sentenced from the EU- for the first time- to payment of a competition penalty in billions amount, confirms now its judgement the appeal court responsible for the American concern.
