EU will speed up construction of wind power plants

The share of renewable energies in the EU will reach minimum 42,5 % and maximum 45% by 2030. To reach this goal the installed wind power capacity in the EU has to be more than doubled , what however demands overcoming of some related challenges, as for instance slow permissions process, unsufficient demand as well as the lack and pricing of the necessary raw materials.
The Commission has therefore prepared one row of instant measures which should ensure on one side the energy transition and on the other side the competitiveness of this industry. The support of the EU Commission is planned for member countries in order to reach a better predictability and a faster process of issuing the necessary documentation.
The Commission will additionally support its members to make the auctions ( the process, where the companies compete for the receipt of an order ) for wind power plant projects more concrete with the implementation of non discriminating and objective criteria, which would enable a higher value creation and guarantee for a complete and punctual completition of the projects.
One important aspect is naturally connected with the financing of the construction. To enable easier production of wind power plants , the access to EU-financing means , especially to the European Investment Funds, should be simplified.
