Euregio Senza Confini: Kaiser remains its President

Carinthia‘s Governor Peter Kaiser (Social Demokratic Party) was again elected the President of Euregio Sensa Confini at the 24th General Assembly. The Carinthian Governor Peter Kaiser, Masssimilaino Fedriga, the President of region Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Assessor Federico Caner of Veneto met last Thursday at the 24th General Assembly of „Euregio Sensa Confini“. Kaiser was reelected the President of this European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation ( EGTC). based on the proposal of both Italian regions. The reward for sustainable mobility projects of the three regions was at this occasion granted to the participants. The winners from Carinthia are the Nocberge Biosphere Reserve and two companies- the NLW Tourismus Marjeting GmbH and the Region Villach Tourismus GnbH. Each oh them received 20.000 Euros. The sustainability reward is orientated towards reaching 17 sustainability aims of the United Nations.

Civil protection Agreement revised. At the General Assemby Kaiser stressed that the Euregio Sensa Confini is obviously getting stronger and is also an example for other EGTC. „We are together showing the way of European life in regions, cities and communities“, said the Governor , who also expressed his thanks to the Director of EGTC Sandra Sodini and her team. On Kaiser‘s request the Civil protection Agreement of the three regions, concluded 1o years ago, was revised and adapted to the actual situation. Kaiser announced that the University of Klagenfurt cooperates with the University of Udine at a law program of study. Assessor Caner told that also the University of Venice showed interest to join this program.
