European Commission proposes measures regarding the gas crisis

According to the  estimations of the EU-Commission the quantities of gas on stock in the frame of the EU are sufficient for the actual heating season, also in the case of a hypotetic complete Russian delivery interruption. The measures are therefore concentrated on one side on the Winter 2022/2022 and on the other side on the perspective to 2030.

Together with the  accelerated builiding of renewable enery sources the dependence upon Russian gas should be reduced by two thirds before the end of this year.

To become completely independent from Russian energy imports, the import of liquid gas (LNG ) should be promoted and the European production as well as the import of alternative energy fuels such as biomethane and hydrogen should be increased to a higher extent as previously planned.
