Nad reko Sočo in Solkanom se strmo dviga romarska božja pot na Sveto Goro, visoko 682 metrov. Z gore se romarju odpre s severa slikovit pogled na Julijske Alpe, z vzhoda na Trnovski gozd, Škabrijel in Grgar, z juga na Gorico, Solkan in Sabotin, na Kras in Jadransko morje, z zahoda na vinorodna Brda, Karnijske Alpe in Dolomite.

Na Sveto Goro se lahko pripeljemo iz Solkana po asfaltirani cesti, ob kateri so postaje križevega pota iz leta 1991, ali pa se podamo s Prevala peš po stari romarski poti; na Goro pridemo tudi iz Grgarja in Zagore pri Plavah.

Sveta Gora je z veličastno baziliko, frančiškanskim samostanom, romarskim domom, duhovno-izobraževalnim središčem Tau in restavracijo biser evropske Povezovalne poti treh romarskih svetišč, kamor sodita še Stara Gora nad Čedadom in Marijino Celje na Kanalskem Kolovratu.

Über dem Fluß Soča und Solkan/Salcano führt steil ein Pilgerweg 682 Meter hoch auf die Sveta Gora (Heiliger Berg). Vom Berg aus erschließt sich dem Pilger von Norden ein malerischer Blick auf die Julischen Alpen, von Osten auf den Trnovo Wald, Škabrijel und Grgar, von Süden auf Gorica, Solkan und Sabotin, den Karst und die Adria, und von Westen auf die Weingegend Brda, die Karnischen Alpen und die Dolomiten.

Von Solkan aus erreicht man mit dem Auto Sveta Gora auf der Asphaltstraße, an der sich die Stationen des Kreuzweges aus dem Jahr 1991 befinden, oder man wählt zu Fuß von Preval aus den alten Pilgerweg. Es gibt auch einen Zugang von Grgar aus und einen anderen von Zagore bei Plave.

Sveta gora mit ihrer prachtvollen Basilika, dem Franziskanerkloster, dem Pilgerhaus, dem geistigen Bildungszentrum TAU und dem Restaurant ist die Perle des europäischen Verbindungsweges dreier Wallfahrtsorte, zu denen auch Marijino Celje bei Kanal und Castelmonte oberhalb von Cividale gehören.

Above the Soča river and Solkan there is a steep pilgrimage route leading to Sveta Gora( Holy Mountain ), 682 meters high. From the mountain the pilgrim can enjoy a picturesque view of the Julian Alps to the north, the Trnovo forest to the west, the Karst up to the sea to the south and to Brda, the Friuli plain, the Carnic alps and the Dolomites to the west.

It is possible to drive by car to Sveta gora from Solkan following the asphalt road, along which there are the stations of the Cross path from the year 1991, or to walk from Preval along the old pilgrimage route. There is an access also from Grgar and another from Zagora at Plave.

Sveta gora with its magnificient basilica, Franciskan monastery, the pilgrim’s house, Spirit education center TAU and the restaurant is the pearl of the European connecting road of the 3 sanctuaries, to which also belong Marijino Celje near Kanal and the sanctuary of Castelmonte above Cividale.
