On Thursday, 17th June, 2021 the EU Commission published a study , ( Flash Eurobarometer ) which shows a high degree of readiness for vaccination against COVID-19 among the inhabitants of the EU. Almost 80% have already been vaccinated or are eager to be vaccinated as soon as possible . Austria shows in this moment 73% quota for vaccination. However, there are significant variations among Member States and by age group, people under 45 being more hesitant that people above that age.
On average, 70% think that the EU is playing a key role in ensuring access to COVID- 19 vaccines in their country. A narrow majority of those who express a view are satisfied with the way the EU has handled the vaccination strategy.
In the frame of the EU up till now 353 millions of vaccination doses were delivered and the vaccination itself was done with 299 million doses. 53,3 % of adult EU inhabitants received at least one dose.
