More and more EU member countries do not want to sign it
UN Migration pact is the first global agreement referring to the thema of migrations. It should establish »safe, regulated and secure« immigrating and emigrating with several basic rules and about 20 detailed measures, which acceptance is however not obligatory. Besides the aim of the pact is a better level of intergovernmental cooperation at the migration politics; for instance all data of a migrant, who could not identify himself, would be collected and afterwards the documents for the identification would be awarded to him/her.
Austria will not sign the Migration pact of the United nations, it will continue to accept its own laws for all fields of migration. This was the information from the Austrian Federal Government on October 31st, 2018. The signing of the pact is planned for December in Maroco. Also USA, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia do not want to sign the mentioned agreement.
