USA are threatening with new protective duties on European products

In the frame of the lasting conflict between the EU and  the USA, which refers to the state subventions for aircrafts Boeing and Airbus, the USA published a list of further protective tariffs on European products. The duties should comprise the trade volume in the amount of four billion dollars and are to be added to the already proposed duties in the height of 21 billion dollars. They should be applied on different types of cheeses, sausages, noodles and olives.

The EU proposed from its side a list with protective tariffs on American products in the value of twenty billion dollars, which refers for instance on spare parts for planes, chemicals and food items. The conflict is meant to cover the losses, which were caused to the USA due to the state subventions to Airbus from the side of the  EU and to Europe due to the American subventions to Boeing.

The World Trade Organization (WTO) will most probably soon come to the judgement, in which part the American protective duties on European products are justified. The judgement about the justification and volume of EU protective duties on American products is however expected  only in the beginning of the next year.
