On July 28th 2025 the 80th Villacher Kirchtag (Austria’s largest traditional festival) was not only a festive celebration, but also a stage for discussions about the directions for strengthening the Alps-Adriatic Region.
The representatives of the Alps-Adriatic Centre (AACC) met the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Villach Guenther Albel and Gerda Sandriesser, the Director of the Institute for Tourism of Municipality Brda Tina Samec Novak and the representative of the »Pintar Estate« Tjaša Pintar Keleman.
The intensification of the cooperation between Villach and the Municipality Brda was the thema in focus.
The possibilities of cooperation were discussed also with the representatives of the Slovenian Municipalities Mengeš, Bled and Bohinjska Bistrica. Therefore the AACC is again in the role of the central platform for regional networking and European Cooperation – completely in the sense of a strong and cross-border Alps-Adriatic idea.
