Cross border cooperation and amicable commonality were the central points of the festive events at the occasion of 10 years of the existence of the EGTC Euregio „Senza confini“ in the Carinthian capital. The Austrian EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn had besides other international guests also the honor to be present at the ceremony.
Last Friday, on 25th November the Land Carinthia invited to celebrate , what started ten years ago, namely on 27th November 2012 with the signature of the incorporation contract by the representatives of Regions Friuli Venezia Giulia , Region Veneto and Carinthia : the European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation (EGTC ) Euregio „Senza Confini„ with its seat in Trieste.
The Land Governor Dr.Peter Kaiser, who is since 2018 the President of the EGTC Euregio „Senza Confini„ invited to the General Assembly and ceremony besides members of the government and former important Carinthian politicians also the assessors ( Regional Parliaments ) Stefano Zannier (Friuli Venezia Giulia ) and Francesco Calzavara (Veneto ), the Vice President of the Istrian Region Jessica Acquavita and the Austrian EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn.
In the course of the celebration the Carinthian Governor stressed the meaning of the cross border cooperation in the frame of the EGTC Euregio „Senza Confini“. This cooperation should help to accelerate the commonality , bring more reciprocal understanding and therefore create peaceful living together. The Europe Region has already acquired 3,3 millions of Euros from the EU for several „Senza Confini“ projects, such as EMOTIONWay for formation of a cross border bicycle net and SCET-NET, an exchange program inside of the Euregio for apprentices and students.
