Minister Arčon on his first visit to Klagenfurt

The Minister of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians abroad Matej Arčon met on 22nd June in the premises of the Consulate General of Slovenia in Klagenfurt the key representatives of the Communities and Associations of the Slovenian minority in Austria. This was the first official meeting with the new Minister, who was accompanied by Vesna Humar- State Secretary of the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians  abroad.

The Minister underlined the importance of regular dialogues and agreed upon closer cooperation, so the next meeting is planned for September.

At the meeting were present from the side of the Communities: Valentin Inzko (The Council of Carinthian Slovenians), Marjan Sturm (The Association of  Slovenian Organisations) and Heribert Kulmesch (The Community of Carinthian Slovenians), absent with apology were  the President of the Article 7 Cultural Association for Austrian Styria Susanne Weitlaner and the delegate of the Austrian Federal Parliament Olga Voglauer.

In 2025 Nova Gorica (Slovenia) together with  Gorizia (Italy)  will be the European Capital of Culture. Slovenians  abroad want to participate actively and to co-create the program.
