On 6th October the first meeting of the European Political Community was held. Namely this year in May the French President Emmanuel Macron presented his idea for a new European political association- now in Prague the project has actually started.
In reference with the situation in Ukraine Emmanuel Macron defined in May the idea to implement a new channel of cooperation for the non-EU nations. The purpose of the European Political Community should be to intensify the exchange with non-EU countries, especially the ones, which can not join the EU for a certain period of time or even do not plan the accession. Therefore to the meeting in Prague besides 27 EU member countries also 17 other countries were invited. Among others also Ukraine, Turkey, Switzerland, the West Balkan countries and Israel. The thematical focus was primarily on the war situation in the Ukraine and the actual economic situation.
